Tax Extension Legislation Signed Into Law

President Obama signed into law the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Jobs Creation Act of 2010 on December 17, 2010. In general, this new tax law is a political compromise. It extends for two years (2010 and 2011) many tax provisions which had expired as of December 31, 2009. This means there is only one more year to go before such provisions will again expire on December 31, 2011. 2012 is a presidential election year..
